What is your company mission and vision? Our mission/vision is to help improve the health to as many people possible by providing purest, highest quality, science based omega-3 products in the world.
Are your products always produced in Norway?Norwegian PURE-3® is only produced in Norway, a country that has unmatched history, experience and know-how in producing marine omega-3 oils.
This also assures that we can have total quality control at all times, and that our omega-3 is always produced to the highest quality standards possible, with absolutely no inconsistencies.
It also assures our customers security and consistency, that our products always will be made in Norway to the highest standards in the world.
What do you mean by "The purest omega-3 on the planet"?By that we mean several things.
Purity is a combination of factors, from using the most advanced processes for removal of all environmental pollutants, to having a very highly concentrated product, to minimizing oxidation of the product.
And this involves the entire process chain, starting with sourcing of the highest quality fish oil available to the finished product and every step in the process chain must be executed to the highest quality standards possible.
This extreme attention to quality and detail ensures that our products are so pure that it is hard to detect or quantitate any environmental pollutants.
We also have very strict oxidation limits and TOTOX (Total oxidation value) in our products will never exceed 12, GOED (Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s) recommended upper limit for TOTOX is 26, and our products will always have less than half of that.1
Our products are always produced and controlled in accordance with pharmaceutical legislation and we don’t hide or “mask” our oil with artificial flavours and coatings.
Purity/quality is also a question of consistency.
Some producers and brands can deliver occasional batches of product to high standards, involving one or more of the above mentioned parameters, but that is not good enough for us.
We want to be sure that our products always are the purest possible, produced to the highest quality standards in the entire process chain, always and with no exceptions.
And we believe that very few other brands can guarantee this to the same degree as we can.
Exceptional consistent purity and quality is our very brand and customer promise.
What kind of fish oil is used in your products, is it sustainably sourced and how is it produced? The fish oil used in our products are always sourced from sustainably sourced wild caught fish, certified by Friend of the Sea and have full traceability back to the vessel that caught the fish.
The oil primarily comes from anchovies (a species with with high omega-3 content, low environmental pollution and that is not endangered).
The oil is then purified and concentrated in Norway to unmatched quality standards with advanced, unique and patented molecular distillation in a cGMP facility, with best in class quality controls across the entire production chain.
Advanced molecular distillation is a very gentle and effective method for omega-3 purification and concentration and Norwegian PURE-3® products are always made using the most advanced omega-3 production process in the world.
Are your products in ethyl ester or triglyceride form? Our products are in triglyceride form, more specifically in r-Triglyceride (rTG) form.
This is the most expensive form of omega-3 and recent studies suggest that this form has better absorption in the body than other forms of omega-3.2,3
We only use pharmaceutical grade halal/kosher certified bovine or fish gelatin in our products.
What kind of gelatin do you use in your capsules?
Does your product contain any GMO?
No, our products does not contain any GMO.
What kind of antioxidants do you use in your products? We use natural vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) in our products. The vitamin E is derived from non-GMO soybean oil and does not pose any allergy risks.
Does your products contain any additional vitamins?
No, our products only contain omega-3 (and the above mentioned vitamin E as antioxidant).
Our opinion is that you should get additional vitamins from a high quality multivitamin
and/or additional single vitamin or mineral supplements.
Individual need for supplementation can vary greatly depending on your age, gender,
health condition and goals, but it is not possible to get adequate vitamins from an omega-3 supplement.
In our opinion omega-3 and vitamin/mineral supplements should be kept separate so you
can get the best of everything and not combination supplements that per definition can't be optimal for either your omega-3
or vitamin needs.
Do you use any flavouring or coatings in your products? No, we don’t. Our products are so pure and fresh that we don’t need to “hide” or “mask” our oil with artificial flavours or coatings.
This is an increasing problem with regards to omega-3 products, when the oil is “masked” with flavours or coatings it is almost impossible for consumers to know the true quality of the oil as it is sold to the consumer.
A really pure and high quality omega-3 product does not need to be hidden or masked.
Are your products suited for use in long term applications?Absolutely. Our products are exceptionally pure, produced to true pharmaceutical standards and are ideally suited for long-term applications.
But you if you have a medical condition, you should always consult with a health care professional before taking any supplement or medicine.
How many different Norwegian PURE-3 products are there?Currently there is only one Norwegian PURE-3® product available, our 85% Premium Omega, but we are also working on several other products.
One of our core values is simplicity and our philosophy is that you only need av few very high quality omega-3 products, this leads to less confusion for consumers and it also guarantees that all products are as fresh as possible at all times.
Our Premium Omega 85% is a multi-purpose product, optimally suited for all people and will deliver a wide spectrum of health benefits for anyone who uses it regularly.
From what age can children use Premium Omega 85%?Kids over 5 years of age can take one capsule per day or as recommended by a health care professional.
Should pregnant and breastfeeding women take omega-3?Absolutely. It is very important for pregnant and breastfeeding women to consume omega-3 fatty acids and especially DHA.
But at the same time it is also important to avoid fish or supplements that can contain environmental pollutants.
Therefore it is best to take an ultra-pure omega-3 product like Norwegian PURE-3®.
We will also soon launch a premium DHA product, especially well suited for pregnant and breastfeeding women and for
brain and eye health.
Are your products safe for athletes?Yes, our products are guaranteed to be safe for athletes.
Several studies shows that intake of omega-3 fatty acids can have beneficial effects for athletes in a wide variety of sports.
But as always it is important to avoid fish or supplements that can contain evinronmental pollutants.
How many capsules should I consume per day?We recommend 2 to 4 capsules per day of Premium Omega 85% for adults.
2 capsules of Premium Omega 85% provides 1,7 grams of omega-3 and 1,5 grams of EPA/DHA. The following health claims have been approved by the European Union:
Daily intake of 2 to 4 grams EPA/DHA contributes to maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels.4
Daily intake of 3 gram EPA/DHA contributes to maintenance of normal blood pressure.5
Daily intake of 0,25 g of DHA and EPA contribute to the normal function of the heart.6
Daily intake of 0,25 g of DHA contributes to maintenance of normal brain function.7
Daily intake of 0,25 g of DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.8
Daily intake of 0,2 g of DHA contributes to the normal brain and eye development of the foetus and breastfed infants via maternal nutrition (in addition to the daily recommended intake of EPA/DHA of 0,25 g).9
Daily intake of up to 5 grams of EPA/DHA per day is considered safe by EU/EFSA (European Food Safety Authority).10
Omega-3 fatty acids may increase the effects of blood thinning medications and if you have a medical condition, you should always consult with a health care professional before taking any supplement or medicine.
How should omega-3 be stored, should an open bottle be refrigerated?Yes, although not necessary, we recommended that an open bottle should be stored in your refrigerator for maximum freshness.
Keeping your bottle visible in the fridge will also help make sure you don’t forget to take your most important supplement!
